I Confess
About I Confess: Step through the velvet curtains and get ready to hear the real life confessions of a stranger. You might find yourself revealing your innermost secrets in return.
I Confess is a unique theatrical experience. One audience member at a time enters a confessional. An actor, situated on the other side of the divide, is the confessor. Over the course of ten minutes the audience member is bestowed with two confessions, which range from tender to hilarious. One of them will be true to the teller, the other fiction. An opportunity is open at the end to share a confession of your own.
I Confess has been performed in London, at Edinburgh Fringe, Greenbelt Festival, and will soon be featured at HighTide Festival and Tate Britain. It has received critical and audience acclaim. The performances are easily tailored to both adult or family and child audiences. An online component has allowed people from afar to have their stories shared in the live performances, alongside those gathered along the way. See http://iconfessonline.wordpress.com for some examples, or to share your own stories with us.
“This one-on-one encounter will make you look at things in a new light.”

Practical Information
Available to tour throughout 2010 to indoor or outdoor locations. I Confess needs level ground but requires no electricity; it is lit by candlelight and is fully flameproof. It is also waterproof. Performances can happen by day or by night and can last up to three hours including breaks. I Confess tours with at least two actors and one technical director. It flatpacks, can be assembled in 30 min and travels in a small van. I Confess works best in a busy public location, but not directly next to loud music.
